Our team first assembled in 2003, in a small, 2 bedroom apartment in Germantown, WI. We had heard about trivia from a friend and SCSU alum. Those of you familiar with Trivia Weekend may know him as Captain F., head of the infamous "Goat Posse". At his urging, Tommy, our team captain, assembled the rag-tag group of techie misfits. Comprised of a mere six people, and having no idea what we were in for, we did surprisingly well, finishing 37th in a field of 75 teams.
After that first year, Trivia was in our blood. When team captain, Tommy, in early 2004, posed the question, "Well, are you in this year?", the answer was a resounding, "Yes!" With the addition of a few extra bodies, we had high hopes of improving our rookie year stats, but much to our dismay, we fell a bit short. The overnight hours killed us, as did the abundance of Minnesota related questions.
Trivia 2005 was a good year, with our biggest team, and new invaluable members that make exceptional contributions. But 2006 brought busy schedules, and life changes for many of our teammates, including new spouses and children. A team was out of the question that year, but not for lack of enthusiasm.
In 2007, we were back with a vegence. Illness, rookie team members, and a cramped HQ couldn't keep us down. We had a team barely larger than our rookie year, but we managed to finish 41st, smack in the middle of a pack of 80 teams! The following year was a solid year, with another finish around the middle of the pack.
See you in Hour 50!
